Abstract
The purpose of study is to provide an effective way of managing work-related stress for nurses that use an electronic medical record (EMR) system by recognizing satisfaction, stress, and emotional exhaustion level and identifying factors that affect them. The subject of the study are 252 nurses that use electronic medical records at a university hospital in J province. The results show a significant difference in satisfaction level depending on the subject's age, education level, and presence of personal training before using electric medical record system. The results also show a significant difference in stress level depending on the subject's current work department, final education level, and presence of personal training. Emotional exhaustion level shows a positive correlation to workplace culture, job instability and job demands and negative correlation to usage satisfaction, job organization, and inadequacy in compensation.
It is necessary to operate the EMR system efficiently at an organizational level and introduce programs to train EMR periodically, manage work-related stress effectively, and reduce emotional exhaustion.
